The Revolution
The Revolution In 2031 after receiving an eleven-page document titled "The Revolution Declaration," Western intelligence agencies named the previously unknown authors The Revolution. The declaration is a call to arms against the incorporated global system and economic policies of modern nations.

Most statements within "The Revolution Declaration" are far-fetched. The document gives an ultimatum of one year to comply with various demands—promising "ultimate chaos" in the face of a refusal. Dozens of grandiose references made to the "whole of mankind" and "untold histories of the universe" followed by a series of oddly construed threats make "The Declaration" appear frivolous.

However, the document is not entirely ignored. Several sections mention classified information on strategic defense and space systems not accessible to the public, unsettling a group of intelligence officials enough to warrant further investigation. A small, secretive unit established within the Black Operations wing of the Pentagon, called Nightwatch, is charged with the task.

Allusions to three mysterious ringleaders of The Revolution begin to surface. Fearful villagers in South America and captured mercenaries in Europe insist these evil-doers possess special powers and have endless access to cash, diamonds, and weaponry. The group builds a mythical fear among their followers. Under their leadership, criminal enterprises begin recruiting every available lawless volunteer and immoral soul to succeed in forming an Axis of the Underground to profit from, and gain power with, The Revolution.

Three Critical Events lead to CONTRA's creation. A futuristic genetic experimentation lab is uncovered deep in the Colombian jungle; the theft and detonation of a nuclear weapon takes place in Iran; and an attack on NATO headquarters in Brussels kills eighty-two personnel. Sparked by the last event, NATO approves the creation of a battalion-sized, Counter-Revolutionary (CONTRA) strike force to hunt, find, and destroy The Revolution.

The CONTRA ALLIANCE is thus born of elite Special Forces operators from NATO forming three teams composed of seven officers who command fifty soldiers – the Black Team, the Blue Team, and the Gray Team.
